Homework: Students received the study guide today for the written test on Friday Jan. 6th.  Practice identifying the African countries for the test on Thursday Jan. 12th.

What we did today: Today we went over our lab analysis sheets, covered unit test answers, and reviewed Mondays reading on ocean currents.

Discussion starters: Talk to your parents about what an up-welling is and if you have ever experienced one while visiting a beach... don't know what an up-welling is, here is a hint, think back to your currents lab and what happened when you blew across the top of the beaker with the cold potassium permaganate solution at the bottom.

What we did today: Today we explored in lab the causes of surface currents and deep ocean currents. Students stained water with Potassium Permanganate to allow for enhanced visibility of the water samples.

DEC. P.E. QUESTION

Explain the importance of a proper warm up and cool down. 

Define the following components of physical fitness: muscular strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. Describe exercises for each component and the muscles they work.

 

Papers should be at least one page in length, completed on time, information accurate and neat.

Paper due on or before Wed., Dec. 14.

 

**Parents please remind your child to bring gym clothes to school on Monday and keep in their gym locker until needed for class.  This habit will help to alleviate the lost of points.

Today we continued to work on 2-step equations.  We focused on having fractions in the equation.  We also worked on writing algebraic equations when given a story problem.

Homework: finish all question in your ocean currents reading as well as the section review question on the back.


Discussion starters: How do you think water at the bottom of the ocean get back to the top? How does wind affect surface water? If there was no wind would water move at all?
