We discussed direct variation (finding the constant of variation) and graphing lines using 3 different methods.

What we did today: Today we practiced the western Africa map.  We also started to practice for our written Africa test.  There is not date set for the written test yet.
 
Homework: Students were assigned an African country and they needed to find three pieces of information: the name of the leader(s), how they came to power, and the style of government that country follows.  This is due tomorrow.
They are to use the BBC Country Profile page:
 
Students were also assigned a worksheet covering pages 317-321.

For the quiz tomorrow we should know the composition of earths troposphere (list specific gasses and their percentages) , the layers of the atmosphere and how temp and pressure change in each, how the sun creates global and local winds, how differences in air pressure occur in our atmosphere, know what a primary and secondary air pollutant is, know how ozone/smog and acid rain are created, understand the three types of energy transfer(conduction convection and radiation) and know how to represent/illustrate a convection current.
