1st paragraph is an intro to the student, the story, and the value included.
2nd paragraph describes the story in vivid detail.
3rd paragraph answers the IB question, "How do values affect our world?"

What we did today: Today we finished sharing current event news articles.  We then read about the I.B. Learner Profile Traits in their planners.  Students then answered 4 questions about the I.B. traits in class.  Some did not finish and should finish at home.
 
Homework: The only homework is finishing the I.B. traits questions for Monday.

Austin-Course 3

We worked on area and perimeter.  Students will have a chapter 1 test on Tuesday.

Took a super easy quiz today. After the quiz, the assignment was to complete the notes from section 2.4. There are 2 story problems that are causing some stress. That's okay. Problem solving can be stressful. Give them a chance to talk it through, develop a plan, get started and see where they land. If they cannot finish it, we will go over them in class.

You have been pre-tested in push ups, sit ups, sit n reach, shuttle run and mile run for the Presidential Fitness Test.  What areas do you most need to focus on to show improvement?  You can compare your scores to the chart posted in the gym.

 Essays should be of high quality, informative, neat and completed on time.

Papers are due on or before Monday, September 26, 2011.

 

**Parents please remind your child to bring gym clothes to school on Monday and keep in their gym locker until needed for class.  This habit will help to alleviate the lost of points.

What we did today: Today we reviewed information about the Constitution that we covered yesterday.  Then the students wrote an admittance letter to the university of their choice including why they chose that university, what profession they would like to have, and how they would be a positive addition to that universities student body.  All letters were collected at the end of the hour.
 
Homework: Students must have a parent/guardian signature indicating that the current event requirements have been read.  The first current event assignment is due on Wednesday the 21st.  The topic is their choice.

What we did today: Today we studied various aspects of the Constitution including events leading to the development of it, the importance and purpose of the Bill of Rights, and how it is considered a "living document" that can change with the times.

We had an assembly and a field trip today.  We started lesson 1.2 on order of operations in 2nd and 3rd hours.  4th and 5th hours did surveys and made bar graphs.
 
Homework-2nd hour do 6 questions from the notes.  3rd hour do 1 - 15 on worksheet 1.2.

7th grade blog

We explored some new commands on Microsoft office 2010.  We typed up a document about IB learner profile Inquirers.  Most finished, but the assignment is due Tuesday at the end of the hour.
