 What we did today: Today we had a discussion about students favorite books, authors and genres.  My current graduate class is about young adult literature and how these books can be tied into subject specific curriculum. We also finished our discussion and questions about the Kurdish people in the Middle East.

What we did today: Today we watched a video called The Shifting Sands: A History of the Middle East. A discussion followed after.
 
Homework: Students should read Pages 243-245 in their textbook.  Students should write a brief summary for each of the sub-sections.  Starting with "Europeans take over" and stopping after "Attempts at peace".  There are six sub-sections to summarize.

What we did today: Today we took the Africa map test.  We also talked a little bit about Dr. King Jr.  We will talk more about him on Tuesday.
 
Homework: We made a list of characteristics and descriptions of Dr. King Jr. in class.  What the students should do over the weekend is make mental notes about their actions and the actions of others that reflect Dr. King Jr.'s character.  I want the students to see that they can be like Dr. King Jr. even in the smallest of ways.  They will be asked to share with the class on Tuesday.
